MY DIGITAL ART SUPPLIES

Here’s everything I use to create my illustrations, listed in order from least to most expensive.

ERGONOMIC PENCIL GRIP : $8.99

I was super skeptical of why the heck I would need one of these at first, but since I started using one, I never want to go back! This grip makes the base of my Apple Pencil wider and more comfortable, significantly reducing finger joint pressure and wrist fatigue. That means I can draw for longer!

PROCREATE APP : $9.99

This is the drawing app I use for all of my digital art. It comes with a version for the iPad and iPhone* and is raster based (pixels), not vector. For my Android users… I’m sorry. Procreate states that they have no plans to make their program compatible with anything other than Apple products.

(*Procreate Pocket is not Apple Pencil compatible)

LAPTOP STAND : $17.99

I can see how this one might sound a bit silly at first, but I really have come to appreciate mine for both typing on my laptop AND drawing on my iPad. This laptop stand is adjustable to a bunch of different heights, and folds down really nicely for people on the go like myself. The benefit is allowing my wrists to bend and work as they should, not strain. It also allows me to sit in a better position for my back and neck because I don’t have to look down at my screen.

IPAD CASE W/PENCIL HOLDER : $27.99

This case has been through the ringer with me and has kept my iPad safe for over a year. I like that it has a trifold cover that you can use as a stand, but also protects the screen when not in use. There is also a perfect slot for the Apple Pencil to sit in while it charges and definitely keeps mine from getting lost.

PAPERLIKE SCREEN PROTECTOR : $39.99

This screen protector makes drawing on my iPad feel more like drawing with a pen on paper. It’s matte which means there’s less glare, and feels more smooth than working straight on the glass. Plus, it keeps my screen protected from the constant wear and tear from dragging my Apple Pencil on it all day.

APPLE PENCIL (2ND GENERATION) : $124.98

This is the newest version, and also the one I use. If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, the older Apple Pencil ($94.88) allegedly works just as well. I’ve also heard this Stylus Pen ($46.99) works, but I’m not sure on the pressure sensitivity compatibility etc.

ARKON PHONE/TABLET MOUNT : $129.75

I use this mount for all my video content. It’s awesome because it’s adjustable, has the capability to record looking straight down, and can hold your phone and tablet at the same time. Plus, it comes with a kickass LED ring light! You can also choose whether you want the weighted freestanding base (sits on top of a flat surface), a clamp (to latch onto the edge of a desk) or both!

THERMAL LABEL PRINTER : $206.20

Most of my products right now are digital, sent direct from the printer, or via stamp. However, I use this label printer when I need to ship my work out with a tracking number, and it makes life SO much easier than waiting at the post office! Just grab your labels, print, slap it on, and drop it off… no line!

IPAD PRO 12.9" (3RD GENERATION) : $697.94

My personal preference is the larger (12.9 vs 11 inch) iPad Pro to maximize my work area. Note: iPadOS 13.2 or newer is required to install the Procreate App that I use.

MACBOOK PRO W/TOUCHBAR (2018) : $844.99

I finally upgraded to this from my 2011 MacBook, and it has been amazing for helping me run my small business and keep me organized.
